Dear Travel Partner,
For all Gulf Air (AA operated) flights from/to/within USA for departures on or after November 1, 2010, travel agents are required to insert, in all PNRs, the minimum mandatory data requested from TSA for the "Secure Flight" program:
- Name and surname (as it is shown on the travel document)
- Gender
- Date of birth
Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) must be inserted through the GDS standard format required for Secure Flight SSR DOCS. (eg. DOCS/DB/20AUG71/M/PEARSON/STEPHEN/T), a minimum of 72 hours before departure, or at the time of booking, whichever comes first.
To enable ticketing and prevent cancellation, SFPD elements must be present in the PNR for Gulf Air flights (operated by AA).
Full "DOCS" information which includes passport details is always preferred and will expedite the check in process (e.g. DOCS/P/UK/81172715/UK/21JUL1956/M/12JUN2013/SMITH/JOHN/A).
In addition, passengers travelling to the USA under the Visa Waiver program, MUST complete the online ESTA application and be approved before check in. As it may take time to get an approval, this should be done a minimum of 72 hours before departure. An ESTA application is valid for two (2) years and costs USD 14.00 and may be paid for online.
IF SFPD is not inserted into PNR's, passengers may experience prolonged embarkations, increased fares and denied boarding.
Your compliance with this procedure is appreciated.
